Stopping place for Andrew Jackson, Davy Crockett and Sam Houston. The original road was an animal path used by Indian tribes for commerce and trade. These tribes included: Iroquois, Fox, Sioux, Chippewa, Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw and Creek.

Bank of Belfast
Opened on June in 1910, the Bank of Belfast has had many long years of service to the community.

Belfast Depot
The depot at Belfast is considered the best surviving example of the Duck River Valley Narrow Gauge Railroad buildings. The small Victorian rail station is an excellent board and batten structure. It was built before the 1870's.

Round Hill Cemetery
Formerly a branch off the Bethbirei church. Some of the members built a new church closer to their homes. One church known as the Piedmont Church was begun in 1820. That land is now known as Round Hill Cemetery. The oldest marked grave in Marshall County lies on the hill's summit, that of James Leeper who died in 1811. In 1828, it was written that middle Tennessee and espcially Columbia Presbytery had more overlapping Presbyterian churches than any other section of the United States.

Tate's Store
Opened in 1808 in Belfast. This store traded farm implements, articles of clothing, food, medicines, etc. When the railroad came within one mile of the store, owner Willliam Williams had it moved to its present location.

Belfast Horse Show Grounds
Part of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors Association. This show has consistently won the award for the best one night horse show of the Walking Horse Association.

Morgan School
Located in Petersburg. Closed at the end of the school term 1949-50. Pictured to the left is the current school building.

Petersburg Historic District
This district is comprised of 167 assorted structures which make up the heart of the old market town of Petersburg. Homes in the district date from the late 1840s and include Greek Revival, Italiante, Victorian, Queen Anne, East Lake, Carpenter Gothic and other styles. Churches, commercial buildings, theater, school buildings and a cemetery are included in this district.
